Task 7: listening worksheet from ESL short stories

This listening activity is aimed to 1º Bachillerato. It deals with physical appearance vocabulary and a detailed description of an event. It contains lots of phrasal verbs which describe meticulously the progress of an event. It is quite specific and the activities ask for very detailed information, so before doing these two exercises we will need some pre-listening activity to prepare the students for this type of activity.

Listen to the audio file once. When you listen it the second time, try to find the word that is missing.

The annual teachers’ meeting was the only time ________ all the teachers got together in one place _________ one time.
